H.A. Ironside was a famous Bible Teacher and Pastor of the Moody Memorial Church. His simple way of explaining the truths of Scripture was amazing. People would flock to the church where he was speaking because many felt they could find no better expositional preaching and teaching in all of Chicago. Every time I go to my bookshelf and pull down one of his commentaries, I come away satisfied as if I had just had a wonder spiritual meal.

Lewis Sperry Chafer was a prominent theologian who founded Dallas Theological Seminary and served as its first president. He was influential as a proponent of Dispensational Theology. One of his students was Charles Ryrie who wrote the notes for the Ryrie Study Bible. Chafer was also an evangelist. His eight volume work on Systematic Theology is a standard in the field of Dispensational Theology.

Dixon, was a Baptist pastor and evangelist in England involved in ministry and inner city mission work on both sides of the Atlantic. Meyer was part of the Higher Life Movement and was known as a crusader against immorality. He preached against drunkenness and prostitution.
